The pain was excruciating. At first, it hadn’t hurt at all. After a moment, though, Raivis’ shoulder gradually started hurting. The cuts, though, were not as bad. They were sort of drowned out by the pain in his shoulder. He grit his teeth and managed to sort of curl into a ball, holding his arm close to him. He barely heard the voice of Nils in front of him, followed by the frantic rambling of Matthew.
He looked up, first looking at Matthew, then Nils, and back to Matthew. Raivis blinked a few times in confusion. It didn’t seem right that the Canadian would cling to the leg of someone he had been so mad at just earlier. What he said just wasn’t right either. Matthew wouldn’t say anything like that; especially not to Nils.
Raivis then turned his attention to Nils. What he had said…that didn’t make sense either. Sure, the Norwegian had called him a loser – as was to be expected – but was he actually being considerate? It was like the two people in front of him just became someone completely unlike themselves. Although, Raivis could easily get used to this Nils. This Matthew, though, was just not right. And the girl from before…
“Y-y-you’re that girl,” Raivis said under his breath, too quietly to be heard. He was mostly just talking to himself. People did that, right? He glanced back up at Nils’ hand, outstretched toward him. Raivis had no idea if it was a good idea or not to take the help. By the way he had acted before, Nils was certainly not trustworthy at the moment.
Raivis chewed on the inside of his lip, his gaze switching between Matthew and Nils, looking at both of them with wide eyes. If the rest of his school year was going to be like this, he really didn’t want to stay anymore. He shook his head – very slowly – and scooted back a few more inches, holding his breath against the growing pain in his shoulder.
