Lucia never liked high school. One of the main reasons had to do with the cafeteria. Alright, it was the whole cafeteria- she hates almost everything about it. There was the incessant noise from obnoxious students, the occasional food fight, the messiness, and the lunch ladies were just... bleh. Only the food was fine... at least as far as cafeteria food goes, but that's because Asher's a boarding school.
She does a quick scan of the circular lunch tables, looking for an empty one that hadn't been completely trashed by some heroes getting into a fight. Fortunately, there is one at the corner; there's a table of nerds next to it, but it's unlikely that they'll be much of an annoyance to Lucia. She'd thought about sitting next to one of her brothers or sister, but couldn't find any of them in the large room. Lukas would probably be in a deserted room- eating with his faeries and trolls and whatnot. Lucia considered this herself, but decided that she'd rather not be recommended to the school psychologist for acting "too antisocial." At least if she were to stay in this dreaded cafeteria, she may be seen as just shy rather than not want people's company at all.
Once she sat down on the table and set her food tray, she pulled out a small book from her pocket.
"The Picture of Dorian Gray..." she mutters to herself. Lucia's a bit hesitant to read this book. It's very contemporary- or at least to her standards. Well, she should try something new every once in a while, shouldn't she?
Gabriel sighed as he slowly sneaked into the cafeteria. What a horrible place to be during lunch break, when all students were pretty much yelling and making noise. Gabriel was a calm folk, he couldn't understand them. But he could ignore them, and so he did. Still, it surely looked strange to see the timid boy with his hands on his pockets, randomly dodging food without even seeing it.
He looked around, olive-green eyes inspecting the area before he spotted an empty table - well, almost empty, there was a small girl sitting on it. He smiled, shaking his head and letting out a chuckle as he moved closer, pulling a seat.
"Oi, erm... Hello." He started, offering her a timid, but warm smile. "Can I sit here?" He asked, fidgeting a bit as he tried to look polite. She seemed focused on her book, a shining new copy of 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. He had read it before, quite an amusing book, but... He had read it in Portuguese, so the whole feeling was different. Matter of fact, he liked his mother language better, but... This wasn't the time or place to discuss.
She was also very pale, maybe she was Russian, or Canadian... Some extremely cold country, that's surely where she was from. He wasn't pale himself, he wasn't black either, he was just... Tanned. Gabriel would blame that on the sun, melting sun from Lisbon during the summer, lovely warm sun in the winter. He was probably thinking too much, so he shook his head, keeping the smile as he waited for her to at least look up at him.
