The maze had been set out to change every so often, and was made to be confusing and hard for most who dared to enter. But it was training, and that was why Roderich was there in the first place. He hated his powers but thought that he might train himself a tad. After getting into that fight with the boy with the blond hair, he was feeling rather depressed and angry with himself. How he had fainted. It was terribly embarrassing. This was an opportunity to expand his knowledge of it, strengthen himself. He chose the maze knowing he most likely will not meet anyone for the duration of his practice. Well, he'd hope.
Roderich trudged through the maze, turning corners and getting a corpse to help him open some pathways for him. Although he thought that to be cheating and he did it with the utmost caution. "Dont break anything..." He told the zombie with a low voice as it pushed a bench for sitting. "Thats school property a-and if I get caught doing this, who knows of the consequences?!" He did a flick of his hand to push him aside. He never really controlled any of these things ever, it was so foreign to him, but felt oddly natural.
He glanced around and wiggled his fingers impatiently. When he assumed the coast was clear in the area, he drew out another living corpse and smirked. "Brilliant."
If ever she got lost again, she would tell everyone that the maze sang a siren's song to her, lured her to its horrible, twisted paths. But she was not going to get lost anymore. Once was enough, more than enough even! She was going to find her way out and things would go smoothly as she did so.
Though as she turned another corner, she began to have doubts.
"Haven't I passed here before?" she asked no one in particular as she stared at the little marker, a Chinese character scribbled on the ground with her finger, she had placed on the floor.
She tugged on her hair. She would always be attracted to this maze until she solved it on her own. That would mean countless of weekend hours done away with in frustration and the feeling of being powerless and lost. It was almost as if she had dug her own grave.
"Absolutely brilliant."
With a huff, she walked and turned yet another corner. This time, she saw something -- someone -- who looked rather familiar. Very, very familiar.
"Roderich!" Well, it had been quite a while since the two of them had a chat outside their dorm room. She briskly walked towards him and stopped when she was probably a meter or so away from him. She peered at the, erm, person who was, for lack of a better term, looming over Roderich.
For minutes afterwards, he kept practicing his powers and moving the zombies in place. He made them pull some branches off some trees, he made them set that damned bench back up and even got them to retrieve a stick he had thrown. He smiled at how easy this actually was.
"Nein! Thats not how you do that!" He said, pushing it off to the side as the shorter one tried to put together a statue. He huffed, and wiggled his fingers again. "Well, thats enough for now I supposed." He looked around. "I think I should find my way out of here then..."
But he knew he would get lost. He thought to himself. What if they... no, they aren't smart enough to guide me.... are they?" He shook the thought out of his head and paused.
Then he heard a familiar voice, and his head snapped in the direction it came from. "M-mei!?" He squeaked, panic setting in, as he saw he stare blankly at the the un-dead. "oh no..."
It seemed like minutes before he did something, before he moved. Quickly, Roderich pushed the first zombie down, and it seemed to just disappear into the ground. He then sent the other one trudging away from him into the bushes. He placed a hand on the big scar on his face(hoping it would be gone), and paused, then fixed his hair and his uniform.
"H-hallo.... Mei.... What a pleasant surprise to see someone such as yourself here. You are looking lovely today." He smiled, cautiously, hoping she would either forget or... Just never saw what she did.
