Ah, the cafeteria, a lovely place to be, isn't it? Crowded, filled with students that would be completely normal, if this wasn't a school for special kids, as they called them. Luckily, today no tables were bent awkwardly, there was nothing hanging on the ceiling, and the day outside was just bright. Of course, he'd dodge anything that happened to come his way, he could kick whatever came his way as long as it wasn't laser beams or acid.
Whoever shoots laser beams, anyway? The Portuguese sighed, and went to the counter. First task: get coffee.
"Uma bica, por favor." Gabriel muttered to the woman on the cafeteria, smiling awkwardly. He had forgotten for a moment she wasn't like some teachers, who could understand anything you said, even if they had never learnt said language. Actually, did she even have powers?
She simply stared at Gabe. And Gabe stared back. They kept staring at each other. Stare.
"Ah!" Gabriel muttered after a while, slapping his own forehead. Of course she didn't understand, he wasn't in Portugal. She'd never understand... He lowered his head as a faint blush from embarassment came to his cheeks. "One coffee, please." He said later, loud and clear, raising a finger. If she didn't understand that, it would be strange...
The woman giggled, turned around and started to make his coffee. "And, win-- oh, nothing." He was about to ask wine, but then he remembered. They were on a school, no school serves alcoholic beverages. Stupid Gabriel! She seemed to ignore, probably he wasn't the first one trying to get some alcohol there.
He tapped his fingers against the counter as he waited, taking his coffee and a small sandwich he asked later. He started to wonder why did it take so long, but that was useless now. First, he needed a table. Shaking his head, he narrowed his eyes around until he spotted an empty one at the far end of the cafeteria, and smiled a tiny bit as he grabbed a seat. Six empty places, all for himself.
Well, it was an empty table now, but surely more people would come soon. He just hoped he wouldn't meet any sort of crazy guy, or girl. Sipping his coffee, he leaned back on his seat, watching the crowd and trying to guess which powers each one had.
What? It was a fun game, despite the fact he looked like some random stalker. Raios
