ASHER ACADEMY STUDENT COUNCIL

The student council is the perfect opportunity for you, the student body, to collaborate with each other and bring about changes to our school which we want to see! If you want the teachers to hear our voice, now's your chance to speak up~ If you're interested, please contact your current Student Council President, Emma Zuiderduin, and sign up! When we get enough interested members, elections will start up for specific roles within the council including:

• Vice-President
• Treasurer
• Class Representatives

Emma Zuiderduin hummed cheerily to herself as she flittered out of the empty student council room, a few safety pins held between her teeth and her freshly-printed poster in her hand. Sure, it wasn't exactly a master-piece of art, but Emma was still rather proud of it. After all, she had shown the initiative in setting up the student council, and this little piece of A3 paper was proof of that.

With a satisfied grin, the blonde student stuck the poster on the outside of the large wooden door, and placed the last few tacks into the corners so that the poster was hung up and ready to advertise her cause to the entire student body of Asher Academy! ...Well, that was anyone who walked past the student council room, anyway. Unfortunately, Emma didn't really have enough credit to print out a thousand posters, nor did she have that much time to put them all up around the school. Hopefully word would spread pretty quickly about this new opportunity.

She gave a nod and took a step back, momentarily admiring her work, before stepping back inside the room once more and taking a seat at the table. As she had a free period, Emma thought to herself that she might as well stay in here to finish off her homework, and wait to see if anyone would poke their head in or sign up in interest.

It was a lucky coincidence that Ludwig's route took him past the Student Council Room; he couldn’t remember seeing it occupied, ever, but that day, a large poster calling for interested council applicants had appeared outside of the room, and the door to the room had been left enticingly open. Although the young man found this subtle change downright curious, none of his peers had seemed to notice it, nor did they seem to care when he brought the issue up during a conversation. But his own interest had been piqued and, when he had a moment of spare time, he went back to get a closer look.

At first glance, the idea of a student council seemed extremely interesting. Asher Academy had clearly possessed one before, but he couldn’t recall hearing about it much, so it was somewhat exciting to see that such a thing actually existed — even if he found it rather undemocratic that the president had apparently appointed herself. But the lack of general interest could certainly explain that step. You couldn’t really start a club without a leader, after all. What exactly would the council be in charge of? What kind of decisions would the school allow them to make? Ludwig turned a few ideas over in his mind. On the one hand, the student council probably didn’t wield much authority. But on the other hand, this might be just the place where he could get his proposals heard. Allowing pets on campus to responsible students, or getting new books for the library.

A cautious peek through the open door revealed that the Student Council room looked no different from a small, ordinary classroom, and it remained deserted save for a pretty girl with a headband, who was working studiously away at one of the desks. Ludwig frowned; this had to be the Emma from the poster, the self-proclaimed leader. At least she seemed friendly enough from this distance. Stepping into the empty room, he cleared his throat quietly.

”I hope I’m not interrupting anything, but I wanted to ask about applying for the student council,” he announced.

It seemed as though she had been sitting in that empty room for a while now, the clock ticking loudly with each passing second as it signalled how slowly time was going by. Emma had occasionally let her olive-green eyes stray from her notes to quickly glance at the time, and each time she would sigh heavily. Time may have been going slowly, but this was her free period and she didn't have that much time before her next class. Unfortunately, nobody had shown up yet with any interest in joining the council. Maybe the students at Asher were not the sorts of people who went for this sort of club? That would be a shame. 

Just as these thoughts were flitting around in her head, a soft noise suddenly filled the room and dragged Emma back into reality. Somebody clearing their throat. The Belgian student blinked in surprise, then slowly raised her head to see another student now standing in the room - tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, very well presented and serious. ...A little scary looking, actually. But, that didn't seem to matter, and the next moment a bright smile was rapidly spreading across her face as Emma leapt up out of her chair and darted over to the male student, allowing her feline speed to take her to him in the blink of an eye. 

"You want to join the student council?!" she asked excitedly, her eyes shining brightly up at the taller student. "Fantastic! We're a little short on numbers at the moment," a nervous laugh. "But ah, this is great if you want to apply!" 

Her excitement seemed to be getting the better of her as she chatted and gabbled away to the stranger, before quickly taking his hand in her own and giving it a firm, professional shake. 

"My name is Emma Zuiderduin, but please, call me Emma," finally the Belgian introduced herself with one of her famous, warm smiles. "Currently I am the President of the Student Council, although that's really only because... well... I'm the only member, and the head from last year asked me to run the council after he and the rest of it graduated. I'll run it until we could find someone more suitable for the head role, anyway."  

The girl paused again, before letting another nervous chuckle escape her. She had a tendency to gabble (her brothers would often remark that she could talk for Belgium), and now was one of those times. Quickly clearing her throat, the Belgian student pulled out one of the chairs at the table and indicated for the guy to sit down, before she herself returned to her original seat.

"So, tell me, what's your name and why would you like to join the student council?"
