`NESIA NOTONEGORO!
`LIGHTNING ABOVE AND FIRE BELOW ME!
NICKNAMES Nesia. Hot Blood. Magma Maiden. Napas Naga; because of the pungent smell of sulfur dioxide.
AGE 18
GENDER Female.
ETHNICITY A mix of many. But for easier documentation, let's just say Indonesian.
TEACHER OR STUDENT Student.
GRADE Year 5. Reasons see below.
SPECIAL ABILITY(s) Human volcano. Her stomach is the source of heat, the magma 'chamber'. The chamber digests whatever she eats or drinks into heat and vapor or smoke. The vapor itself is mainly consists of water and usually unseen by human eyes although normal people or smoke detector can detect the heat. Normally, the warmth is rather pleasant and non-destructive. Nesia's mood affects the thickness of the smoke; it always thickens whenever she isn't calm. Both positive and negative emotions affect it, and the latter even more so. Sometimes the smoke becomes so thick, so it appears that she's hidden inside a cloud. Due to the high temperature of her magma chamber, it is advised not to try touching the smoke. She always release the vapor and smoke from her pores and nostrils. If she's overwhelmed by emotions such as anger, embarrassment or other negative feelings, you would notice that she begin to exhale a pungent smell. This is caused by sulfur dioxide. Do stay away from her when you smell it. Several people who lingered too long suffered from respiratory problem for many days, but they all managed to recover.
Once she no longer exhales sulfur dioxide, it might means that she calmed down or she's too overwhelmed and the chamber burns more material, like body fat and recently eaten food. If they're not sufficient, Nesia will feel hungry. If she couldn't find food, she would eat whatever material she can find; fabrics, metal, wood, glass, etc. At this stage, the heat will spread to other parts of her body - the closer it is to her stomach, the higher the temperature. Materials that she can't chew will be minced or melted. The more she eats, the bigger her body will be.
Aside from carrying nutrients and metabolic waste, her blood also carry the heat produced in the magma chamber to the rest of her body. The nickname Hot Blood comes from her ability to thicken and heat up her own blood. If a drop fell on a rock, for example, it'd sizzle and might create a small hole from melting the surface of said rock that touched the blood. In a state when she's overwhelmed by negative emotions, the blood will make her veins even more visible and prominent, giving them reddish-orange glow. Naturally, her body (skin, muscles, organs and other tissues) will harden into rock. Fully transformed Nesia has the appearance of stone statue with magma flowing on the surface. Her hair and nails are not affected by this transformation. In this form she only cares about keeping herself ablaze, thus she will devour whatever crosses her path; be it living being or not. Before she turns everything into ashes or turns into a lava giant, lure her to a large body of water, like the sea or lake. Being submerged underwater will slowly revert her body back into human form. If there's no large body of water nearby, heavy rain would suffice.
Nesia is able to heat up her own body temperature without turning herself into humanoid magma. If she needed to heat up her fingers, for example, their color will darken, their textures become more coarse and things they touch will burn even though the flame itself is nowhere visible on her skin. She can burn or heat up something just by using her breath. The downside of this ability is that she can't prevent her clothes from being burned, even though they're heat-resistant. She's bad in handling cold weather too, because the difference of her inner body and her surrounding's temperature makes her skin chapped or even bleeding.
Because her stomach is a magma chamber, Nesia is able to digest materials that usually isn't considered as food. Still, a shard of glass can hurt her mouth, throat or other parts of her body. Nesia will melt the wounded body part and revert it back, healing herself. This ability is not automatic, often she ignores small cut and scrapes, letting them heal normally. A deep cut will take about 72 hours to heal completely. Nevertheless, if a bone is also injured, she preferred her wound treated by doctors instead of treating it herself. Nesia is also immune of fire and high heat. Suddenly exposing her to fire will make her skin harden, similar to her humanoid magma form, but it will not affect her entire body and will revert back once it is safe to wear her skin again.
HOW DID THEY FIGURE OUT? Nesia was used with her stomach temperature slightly warmer than the rest of her body and never think that it's strange or unusual. A month after her eleventh birthday, her abdomen suddenly felt hurt. She was on the way to school when it happened, so she ran to the woods because she was afraid she wouldn't reach the school on time. The pain intensified, and in the midst of panic her school uniform caught a fire from nowhere. Nesia saw blood trickled down her legs and when it touched the ground, it burned the dead leaves and grasses around it.
A day and one burned farm later, her family found her. The elders of the village took it as a sign that the ancient gods who stayed on top of a nearby volcano had blessed her coming-of-age moment with their powers. They urged her parents to let Nesia stayed in the mountain to learn how to control her abilities from the hermits who lived there. She didn't return until two years later.

`YOU CANNOT CATCH ME, CANNOT HOLD ME,
Food: Nesia likes almost every taste, be it sweet, spicy, salty or even bitter - it's food! Except the tasteless ones, that is. She's always eager to taste new dishes from foreign countries and certainly won't skip a chance where she can eat as much as she can handle. Nesia knows her limit, though. She'll stop her eating-spree once her stomach no longer growling in hunger.
Social media network: Keeping in touch with friends and acquaintances is a must! Social media is also a great tool to keep herself updated about news around the world. It is indeed the greatest thing humans ever invented.
Dancing & martial arts: Nesia is a very skilled dancer, having trained since early childhood. In her school years she had performed in school festivals. Aside from that, she also likes dancing to pop music, preferably when no one else is watching. A hermit taught her martial arts during her time in the mountain.
Tea & coffee: She is amazed by how these two beverages come in different tastes and variants. Cold bottled tea is a must in summer days!
Drama & romance series: Even though she has partial preferences to Asian drama, Nesia also enjoys telenovela, Bollywood movies and soap opera. When watching one, she'll be too absorbed and sometimes might suddenly crying over the leading character's misfortune or angry at the antagonist's evil scheme. While she does enjoy the ones with good plot and character development, Nesia watches the bad ones for the sake of laughing at the bad script, bad acting and ridiculous plot twist.
Scary stories: Nesia loves the thrill she experiences when she hears a scary story. She would spare some time to read them online or watch them on TV. It's somewhat satisfying seeing younger kids cower in fear after listening to her stories.
Relaxing: Her idea of relaxing is taking a nap, having a warm bath or simply sitting in a café with a cup of coffee
Learning about new things/people: Nesia is a curious person. Almost everyone she already met had experienced her never-ending questions about themselves. She also enjoys reading, and her taste ranged from cheesy romance novels to scientific journals.
Her motorcycle: That she left at home. Nesia missed going around her hometown with her motorcycle, but mostly because she didn't need to bother with proper protection. Flip-flops and sunglasses are enough.
Gadgets: As in smartphones, tablet and PC. They are cool, they enable one to do many things at once. And cool. Especially cool.
Her home country: Everything about Indonesia--the people, the culture, the language and the food! She misses the tropical climate so much... Hawaii is similar, but still, it's not her home.
Smoking: She first tried smoking when she was 10. You read that right. Blame it on her curiosity, its incredibly cheap price and how most people around her (and the advertisements!) think that smoking is cool. Nesia always careful to not letting this hobby seen though (by swallowing said cigarette if someone suddenly showed up when she's smoking). Nicotine also keeps herself calm, preventing her from turning into her humanoid magma form.
Money: The solver of all problems, the provider of happiness! Having a lot of money means she doesn't have to worry about many things. It doesn't mean Nesia will resort to illegal means to acquire money, though.
SHE DISLIKES
Wasting food: There’s a saying in her homeland, that if one throw away an edible food, the person can hear them speak and sobbing. Every grain of rice, every slice of meat, every vegetables and fruits uneaten lamenting their unfortunate fate. And it’s not just food that is thrown away; it is also efforts and works of many farmers, merchants and cooks wasted for nothing.
THE COLD: You can hear her complaining wherever the temperature drops below 20 C. She's also more unstable in cold weather, too busy keeping herself warm.
Touchy-feely guys: Being physically close with a man she barely knows makes her uncomfortable. If a man suddenly touched her, whether it's just a friendly pat on the shoulder or a sudden hug, Nesia would flinch and slowly inches away (if you're unlucky, she'll burn you). She only tolerates handshake and nothing past that. On the contrary, Nesia is okay being physically close to other females, even though she just meet her that day.
People who don't follow traffic rules: They're putting other people and themselves in danger. Sometimes they're rude to others too.
Rules, schedules and regulations: She considers these as restraints that block her freedom rather than something that make her life easier.
Cigarette smell on her hair and clothes: Getting rid of the smell is hard and explaining why she smelled like tobacco is harder.
Smoking: She is fully aware about the health consequences she'd get from smoking. Even though she only smokes once in a while, it doesn't mean she's free from those problems though.
Corruption: Nesia had seen firsthand what's its effect on people. It is hard to be an honest, trustworthy person in a corrupt society. Corrupted people always corrupts the innocent ones, intended or not. Too bad there is no easy way to remove corruption completely from society.
Burned clothes: It's super annoying! Once she had to wait until dark before returning to the dorm via the window... all because she burned her clothes accidentally and she didn't bring any spare clothes. Not to mention embarrassing. Argh.
Mathematics: This subject is hard. Ironically, when Nesia transferred to Asher this was the only subject she understood due to language barrier.
FEARS
Drowning: Nesia used to swim a lot when she was young. She saw a friend of hers drowned in a river. The current was swift since it's just rained heavily. His body wasn't found until a week later, swollen and rotten. After witnessing such event, Nesia stopped swimming, even avoiding large bodies of water during storms.
Being without money: Poor, broke and bankrupt. Dreadful. She wasn't poor when she was young, but there were moments when her family had to sell stuff and ate nothing but dried cassava from last year harvest in order to pay for school tuition.
Getting addicted to nicotine: Cigarettes are expensive, it's also bad for her health. What if she got cancer in such a young age?
Losing control of her power: One of the hermit who held similar power told her how much potential their powers had. Nesia is afraid if she lost control she'd destroy things or people she loved.
QUIRKS
~ Nesia likes to tug her hair when she's nervous.
~ She can make temporary tattoos using henna paint.
~ Blushes easily.
OVERALL PERSONALITY
Upon first sight, people often find her harmless; both from possessing a small stature and her reserved attitude. She's a great listener and quite observant, making her picks up news and gossips easily. Her smile is usually polite, and only becomes more sincere if she knew the person she's looking at/talking to. Once you start talking to her, Nesia would show an interest to you (namely asking you questions about your name, your family, your age, what you're doing for living, your pets, your hobbies, where are you coming from, where are you going to, etc.). Often she asks you indirectly, so you won't think she's annoying. If you direct one of those questions to her, Nesia will talk about her family or herself. For some people, this quirk may be considered as too interrogative, but she has no ill intent doing that. Nesia does that to put you into a social grid for her own comfort and to gain knowledge about your culture. She also thinks that information may bring her luck in the future, as little it might be. The quickest way to make her open up more to you is by saying that you like something from her homeland; be it art, culture or food. Do that and Nesia will consider you as her friend.
Politeness is an inseparable trait of her. Nesia always address people older (or who look older) than her with Mr or Ms before their name. Even though Nesia is insisted to drop the title, she might refuse and continue to do that to confirm her position before others. Calling someone just with his/her name is impolite in her society, unless Nesia is sure that they are equal (in same age, coworker, close friend). She rarely raise her voice or interrupt others in conversation. It's rather uncomfortable for her to speak an argument against others, so she keeps most of her thoughts to herself. If she has to, for example, denying someone's request, Nesia will not openly say it. She'll make up excuses, hoping you will catch the subtle meaning behind her words. Miscommunication is bound to happen if you used to bluntly say your thoughts. Nesia does it to avoid making you lose face or accidentally being rude. She even go as far as refusing an offer, since she feels uncomfortable for making people busy and doesn't want to look greedy. But if you keep insisting, she'll accept it eventually. Otherwise, she'd subtly make you offer the opportunity again.
She is rather modest and conservative compared to the majority of urban culture. Except when she is really curious, she mostly avoids eye contact. Even if she did, it was brief and lasted no more than a second. Nesia favors emotional connection before physical ones, and sees her relationships as platonic acquaintance/friendship. She likes making everyone around her is feeling comfortable. To people close to her, Nesia is always ready to cheer them up and lift their mood. She isn't picky in making friends, although she would develop a little disliking towards the rude ones or people who breaches her private space. Her loyalty is quite unshakable, and she will stick to her loved ones through thick and thin. When it comes to romance, Nesia usually waits the other person to make the moves. She also develops crushes easily, and it's not uncommon for her to have crushes on several people at once. Physical intimacy always come later than the emotional one. It's not impossible for her to initiate it first after she reached a certain degree of closeness. Nesia is also a jealous person, but instead of explicitly shows it, she'll drop subtle hints as usual... unless she can't hold it anymore.
Sometimes having such a huge interest to many things have a down side. Nesia finds it hard to focus on something, unless it's really exciting for her. She constantly moves from one thing to another, seeking for the same excitement. The only things she could focus on are the ones she enjoys doing or important matters. While her emotion is usually easy to read, it also tend to switch quickly from being sad to happy and vice versa. Nesia doesn't dwell much in the past and quick to forgive people who had hurt her, but she'd never forget their unjust deed.
It feels satisfying when the younger people look up to her as a role model. For her, being a good example means that Nesia must maintain her behavior. Showing a slightest hint of bad attitude is simply unacceptable. Nesia feels other people would not like her as much as before if they find that out; they might even hate her. She doesn't want to make them disappointed either, so she'd rather pretend that everything is okay than revealing that she has a problem. Nesia believes everything she does must be things worth mentioning, things that would make people amazed. There is no need to give news to family if it's not good enough.
She tends to over-thinking things, mostly about other people's opinion about herself. What would they say if she does this instead that. What would s/he thinks if she showed up in this dress to their appointment. This trait makes her appear as anxious and neurotic. She often spend more time worrying over a task than doing the task itself, and also known to come late to appointments. She is actually able to act diligently, but she only do it in emergency cases; for example, if she is the only one who can do a particular task. Her motto is 'live for today' after all. Why doing something that can be done tomorrow?
Because of her laziness, Nesia prefers to achieve or acquire things with as little effort as possible. She won't hesitate to manipulate people by using her innocent-like nature. Breaking rules is not something strange for her. Still, it doesn't mean Nesia only takes advantage from people around her. The woman upholds fair trade. If she had done a favor to someone, Nesia expects said person will return it to her and vice versa. She isn't fond of order and prefers her surroundings to be organized in a chaotic way. While to an outsider's eyes it may look cluttered, Nesia does remember when she last saw a certain item and where to find it. For her, it is not messy if she still can find things easily.
She prefers to stay away from conflicts and chooses the quickest win-win solution to end it; as long as it doesn't involve her. Nesia will do anything needed to ensure her own safety. This also applies to other people she cares about, like her close friends. She will protect them, whatever the consequence is. On the other hand, if the problem involves her personally Nesia would not back down until she wins. There's a chance that her emotion will explode, especially if there is physical violence. Nesia is the type who bottles up her negative feelings towards people. Usually she channels it out by talking to a friend, but sometimes it's not enough. Nesia need to scream, need to display her anger properly. Thus, the room she was in often becomes the target of her wrath. Nesia understands how destructive her raging self can be, so she would immediately leave the room if her rage is about to explode. Nesia has no qualms about hurting or injuring people once her rage shows up, so it is advised to leave her alone until she calmed down. But sometimes there are fights which she couldn't win, especially if the other person had better weapon or greater strength. Escaping is the wiser option in this case.
Since she had to repeat years she missed while training herself in the mountain, she seemed timid and not confident at first glance. But making her open to you is not hard and when you managed to do so, she'll become your loyal friend... or even more.
`YOU CANNOT STOP, MUCH LESS CONTROL ME!

What kind of job they were going to offer to her? It must be something illegal, Nesia was a hundred percent sure about it. Couldn't they just explain it somewhere else instead of taking her so far to this shady part of London? No, oh my God, no. What if they kidnap her, smuggle her out from the country and sell her at God-knows-where? Nesia hid her face in her hands, muttering more prayers in high speed. No way she would let anyone harm her so easily; not without her harming them first.
Stupid. Idiot. She could solve difficult questions about mathematics and physics, but yet... she fell into an easy trap like this. Just because someone was dressed in a fancy attire and paid you a dinner in an equally fancy restaurant, it didn't mean that person was kind.
Kindness can be faked. People lied all the time about everything. She shouldn't forget that.
How she's going to escape this situation? Nesia leaned back in her seat, assessing the situation. Now was the best time to run, while none of her limbs were tied - but they were in a moving car and even though they stopped, these two guards would be able to catch her easily. Or shoot her dead. Whatever strategies she managed to figure out ended with the loss of her own life. Pleading clearly wouldn't help much if they already set what would her new job be, wasn't it? What difference she had over a million other girls in London? They could get rid of her and kidnap another easily.
What should she do?
What she could do for no--
"We're almost there~!"
The sudden noise other than the smooth car engine jolted her upright in her chair. Her eyes met briefly with the man who sat on the front. She quickly looked away. Just like in their dinner, he spoke cheerfully, as if they were not going to a shady neighborhood. As far as Nesia knew, there were only two kinds of people in the world who spoke in that manner: a genuinely happy person or a psycho. Would a happy person being cheerful while he kidnapped a civilian? Nah.
"So, say, are you excited?"
The student leaned further in her seat, trying to create more distance between her and Ivan Braginsky. The question made her start shivering again - not just because of the cold, but also the fear that suddenly rising. And... and did he really say friends?
Oh, he did.
Nesia was convinced that the Russian was... not normal, not sane. She glanced to the other men, but their facial expressions remain unchanged since they left. So it's normal for them to see him behaving like this. Both of her arms were held close to her chest, in a manner like a fighter defending himself from an incoming attack. No one would be able to help her now, if they decided to use her for... for something bad and illegal. Not even the police knew-- the police. Her body stopped trembling when the realization dawned on her and Braginsky didn't look to the backseat anymore.
She could call the police. The problem was that her phone was in the depths of her handbag, buried under trinkets and whatnots. She scolded herself for being too lazy to organize its contents. Her phone should be placed somewhere that was easy to reach. Or even better, in her own pocket instead.
From the front seat, she heard Braginsky was talking about something. She barely paid any attention to him, thinking about what's the best way to fish out her phone and called the cops. Such rapid movements would stir up suspicions. Would that be worth a try?
No. The voice in the back of her head rejected the idea. Don't do anything that would risk the loss of your own life.
The car began to slow down, then stopped. Her heartbeat quickened again upon knowing that her fate would be decided soon. Then the car doors were unlocked.
Should she play along or run?
A cough from her side told her to start moving now. So she slowly left the car with her bag held tightly in her grasp. She followed them quietly, trying to soak up all the sight - in case she'd need it to explain the place to the police later.
"W-where are we?" she finally spoke, her voice almost as audible as a trembling whisper. "It's... so c-cold..."
Playing along seemed to be the best choice she had for now.
