`ANTONIO FERNANDEZ CARRIEDO!
`WHEN THEY FINALLY COME TO DESTROY THE EARTH,
NICKNAMES Toni, Tonio, Boss
AGE 17
GENDER Male
ETHNICITY Spanish
TEACHER OR STUDENT Student
GRADE 7th
SPECIAL ABILITY(s) Weather Manipulation
HOW DID THEY FIGURE OUT?
Rainy days were always so boring for Antonio. His mother never let him splash outside in the mud when it was raining for some bogus reason like "I don't want you getting sick". Yeah right. Playing inside always got him scolded too, whether it be for jumping on the furniture or being to rough with his siblings. He even got in trouble when he tried to sleep through the rainy days! Who cared about a disrupted sleep cycle when the only option was boring activities and chores.
When he was around seven years old, there was a week when all it did was rain. He was so very sick of all this rain! He sat at the window in his bedroom and glared hard at the dark, stormy sky. Rain, rain, go away! With his forehead pressed against the glass, he focused on a crack in the clouds, willing it to widen and allow the sun to peek through. When it actually happened, he almost fell out of his seat. The little pocket of sunshine didn't last once his focus broke, so he tried again, willing it with all his strength until the clouds had finally dissipated. His triumph was short lived due to the pounding headache that he received for his efforts. [/ul]
`THEY'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOU FIRST!
Gardening: Nothing is better than spending time outdoors and vegetables are one of his favourite food groups. Not to mention, tomatoes grow in gardens and they are his favourite food ever!
Children: Kids are so cute, they are much more fun to be around than stuffy old adults who don't remember what fun is.
Chocolate: Antonio's sweet tooth is larger than his love for tomatoes. Nothing quite beats a churro dunked in a nice warm mug of chocolate!
Playing Sports: Soccer is one of his most favourite outdoor activities and sports are a good source of exercise and relaxation.
Bullfights: It's something he always loved ever since he was a young boy in Spain. When he was little he used to dream of being a matador. He knows that it's a bit cruel, but it holds a lot of nostalgia for him so he just can't help but like it.
Creating Art: Antonio really enjoys painting and drawing, preferring more abstract and surrealistic styles like Dali and Picasso than realism. Sometimes he leaves his work around his dorm and creeps out his dormmates.
Playing Pranks: He is a prankster at heart and loves to play lots of harmless pranks when he gets the chance.
Music: There is nothing more relaxing than switching on some music and dancing around the common room. He also likes to play the guitar.
Sleeping: He goes to bed extremely late, sleeps until he is rudely awoken and then takes a nice long siesta in the afternoon.
ANTONIO DISLIKES
Using Modern Technology: Because he grew up out in the country, away from things like cellphones and the internet, he doesn't really understand how to use electronics.
Cold Weather: He favours warm temperatures, where you can run around outside. Cold and snow are his worst enemies and he hates winter with a passion.
Sarcasm: It's really hard to tell sometimes when people are being sarcastic, then they get all mad at you for not getting it? It's annoying to deal with.
Bland/Bad Food: Antonio is actually a bit of a snob when it comes to food, so if it's too bland or tastes bad, he won't touch it.
Bratty Kids: He may like children, but spoiled brats are not the type he likes being around. They're not cute at all!
The Top Shelf: He can't quite reach the back of it yet.
Sitting Through Lectures: Why bother with all that boring talking when you could be out learning things firsthand!
His Powers Activating Unconsciously: I mean, how embarrassing is it to have the weather as your own personal mood ring! Then everyone knows what you're feeling all the time.
Weeds: They ruin gardens and dig themselves in deep! Who would like them?
FEARS
Boats: When Antonio was younger, he was invited to go on a fishing trip with his friends. The fishing trip was very poorly organized and there weren't enough poles or life vests to go around. The boat they were using for this expedition was old and not exactly very safe. They had almost caught their first fish when another newer looking boat decided to speed around them like they were the king of the ocean. At one point, the speedboat got too close and capsized them. The fishing boat, having enough of this abuse, sunk to the bottom of the ocean so they were forced to swim back to shore. Since he had almost drowned, Antonio was pretty wary about going near any boats from that point on. Needless to say, they didn't catch any fish.
Being abandoned by those close to him: Antonio knows that he can often come across as 'dense' to those who know him. He fears that one day his friends will eventually get fed up with trying to explain things to him and leave.
QUIRKS
Passion: Whenever Antonio does anything, he goes at it with a fiery passion and determination that no one else seems to have.
Oblivious: He doesn't understand people's hidden meanings, can't read the atmosphere well and doesn't even realize people are molesting him/flirting with him.
Booze: Antonio tries to stay away from alcohol. He gets extremely foul tempered when he gets drunk, which he really dislikes about himself. A single glass of wine is okay, but only on occasion.
Speed: This pretty much speaks for itself. Antonio is pretty fast, which is good for his soccer career.
Freckle: Antonio has a single freckle on his right buttcheek that he doesn't believe exists, but Mathias knows it's there. HE HAS SEEN IT. IT'S REAL.
Smoking: Though he doesn't usually do it too often, Antonio is known to indulge in cigarettes on occasion, especially when he is stressed.
OVERALL PERSONALITY
Antonio is known best for his easy going attitude, love of people and sun ripened tomatoes. He is cheerful almost all of the time, preferring to look on the bright side of things rather than let a few setbacks bring him down. Some people label him as an idiot, mistaking his optimism and bluntness for naivety, but the thoughts of others do not bother him too much. He is a bit insensitive since he won't read the atmosphere of a situation before stating his opinions, but always has the best intentions at heart.
Helping others is something that he really enjoys doing, reveling in the small happiness he can bring to someone's face by teaching them a new skill or fact, which is probably one of the main reasons why he loves to spend time around children. They're always ready to learn new things and he is always happy to play the "big brother" role as often as he can. When it comes to those that he cares about, Antonio is very protective. He will fight with all his power to make sure that they are safe, casting aside his own well being. Chilly is a huge douche. It doesn't matter to him if they don't appreciate his efforts, or if they weren't exactly the closest of friends to begin with, he will do as much as he can to help them out.
When he does anything, he goes at it passionately, devoting all of his attentions to whatever it is, whether it's doing chores, or trying to woo a cute lady (Or sometimes a man). It can often rub people the wrong way, especially when they're uninterested in his affections, but he either doesn't notice or doesn't let it affect him. He doesn't hide his emotions often, preferring to let others know how he is feeling rather than try to bottle it up and hide it away behind a mask. To him, masking your emotions all the time seems like a waste of time and kind of stupid? After all why would you want to keep everything all hidden away, it is painful when you can't let out how you feel! He understands that some situations require it, but tries not to make a habit of it.
Receiving praise isn't one of his strong points. He is always ready to shower someone in compliments, but has a hard time accepting them himself. He doesn't really think himself too special, so when someone tell him otherwise, he freezes up and plays it off like nothing.
`I BET THEY WON'T BE EXPECTING THAT,
[/ul][/font] Being behind the camera lens was always a thrill. There was something about the way people looked on film that attracted him to it. He could create whatever scenes and moods he wanted others to feel with a simple change in lighting or the angle of a hip. Should they be sensual? fighting? It was all up to him. No matter what, he always tried to make sure his pictures stirred some sort of emotion in people, otherwise what would be the point?
Antonio set up another shot, but when he went to snap the photo, it just didn't seem right. Giving the models an apologetic smile, he lowered his camera again and fiddled with the lights. A step back and... perfect. A series of poses later, he decided that he was satisfied and let his subjects leave. Now he just needed to upload these to the computer and he could finish for the day. He was excited, it was really nice outside and the park wasn't usually busy at this time of day. He walked over to the computers and stared. 'How do I do this again?' he thought, looking from his camera to the monitor. The switch to digital was really tough for him. After a minute, all he had managed to do was make it angry. The screen was a really ugly blue colour and it was making this strange noise whenever he touched something. He looked around frantically before spotting someone who looked like they could help him. "Ah, excuse me? I think this computer hates me. Can you ask it to ...um, take the pictures from my camera?"
