Christmas was in the air. Literally. Those Christmas decor just smells like... "Christmas" so to say for the lack of the better word. Well, technically, it's the scent of freshly chopped down evergreens, eucalyptus, apple, cinnamon, and whatever fragrances Christmas candles use. If one didn't know what Christmas smelled like, they wouldn't really know what Christmas was. It was the time where one would smell the shortbread and well, coffee. Yes, shortbread - Iain would be looking forward to baking shortbread again and spread the true traditions of Scottish Christmas.
Of course, that wasn't going to happen. Why? Why you would ask? Oh, it's because he was 'persuaded' to sign himself up for that money-wasting secret santa.
Though, now he's sounding like Scrooge, and what happened, happened. It would be very rude if he didn't even bother getting a present for the person who he was assigned too... Of course, now it just so happens to be a person he knew very little about - aside from this person having the name of "Lukas Aren Bondevik" and that he was a junior.
The only fortunate thing was that gossip and rumors fly around like crazy and Iain was listening to every single one from the distance and came to a conclusion for a good gift. It wasn't come crude joke or anything, but he did put some thought into it. He really doesn't have any reason to hate this person, no? Of course not - because he doesn't even know this person yet aside from the name.
So here he was, sitting at the library, his present for Lukas sitting on the table, neatly wrapped in decent-looking, if not cheap, wrapper from the arts and crafts room, and reading some books about things such as comparative government and politics, poems of William Wordsworth, and Forensic Science. Of course, he was just bored in reality. He didn't feel like looking for this Lukas and honestly, it wouldn't hurt to just sit at the library and see some books about subjects that are usually taught in American schools. Though, forensics is very interesting of course, Iain might take a closer look into it - you know since make some use of his abilities or something instead of using it to solve petty but very entertaining puzzles.
Of course, he read, but really didn't get into the reading. His eyes kept on wandering from the book to the side - as if to scan around the area of the library. The books, though educational - were boring and he didn't feel like reading anything else. Romance novels? Yeah, he has his own collection in his room, hidden from the world. Other types of novels? Not in the mood - as usual.
