It was times like these where Tae Hyun cursed the fact that he was so punctual, for he had been standing in front of the Le Restaurant for half an hour, dressed up for a date he was secretly dreading.
He glanced to his wristwatch again, sighing when he saw the hand had moved but two minutes clockwise. It was 6:58, and it had been for the past year it seemed. Where was she?! Wasn't she aware that it was only polite to be at least one minute early? Apparently not! Tae Hyun frowned, pulling out a print out with his date's basic information on it.
According to the school database, Mei Chu was of Chinese and Taiwanese heritage, meaning there was a possibility of her being rather short. Then again, she was sixteen, therefore two years older and the chance of her being taller than he was high. Tae Hyun could not deny that he hoped she was shorter, because it would be extremely humiliating to be shorter than his date. But luckily, he was tall for his age, so that might not be a problem. But could you imagine how ridiculous that would appear to others if they were to be out of proportion? If Mei Chu continued to date him, and she was even the slightest bit taller, well, he wouldn't have that. There would have to be some way to shrink her down.
The Korean boy coughed, smoothing out invisible wrinkles in the black button up shirt he wore. A shrinkable partner in crime, he.. well, it wouldn't be a very useful power, but he couldn't really deny that it would be almost cute.. He coughed again, running a hand through his bangs. A braid of dark brown hair hung down his back, swinging like a pendulum every time he took to pacing in front of the building. If he were that kind of guy, he might have started playing with his hair in a sickeningly girly fashion. But no, Tae Hyun resisted the temptation to do so, even though he was anxious.. Not anxious! Bored! He was so bored that there was a desire to play with his hair. How rude of Miss Chu to not be early and force him to almost do such odd things.
The only thing that could happen now that would truly make him snap out of frustration would be if one of his siblings turned up, which they had a damn tendency to do. Like bugs, they were, just crawling out of the woodwork to annoy him. Actually, Soo Yong wasn't as bad, even though her personality was sometimes a bother. No, Yong Soo, that's who defined annoying, who had a habit of pissing him off.
He was sure neither of them would turn up, for he had taken all the precautions to avoid having them see him go off school grounds, just in case they might get it into their heads to tag along. The possibility of Soo Yong or Yong Soo seeing him was 99%, for there was always room for failure, as much as it wasn't likely with him.
Tae Hyun looked to his watch, and almost screamed, for the hand had only creeped over a little bit, making the time 6:59.
