For a school that taught people how to use super powers that defied logic, classes for sidekicks were extremely dull.
The teachers were nice for the most part, but she felt as if they were just regurgitating the same words for every class, every day. Which, technically, is what they do, but the least they could do was maybe make things at least a little bit more exciting!
The thing the bothered Leonie most, to be frank, was how easily she fell into the routine that the Academy had. She didn't consider herself too terribly boring.. But in reality, her schedule had been 'wake up, go to class, go to dorm, do homework, sleep'. Even when she listened to music, it felt like she had been listening to them for years on loop. As much as she hated to even think it, her music had even gotten boring.
Maybe that's why she signed up for the Valentine's event, to just have something to look forward to besides sleeping. Of course, she was secretly terrified at the thought of meeting a completely stranger and spending time alone with them. What if they were obnoxious and rude and got her in trouble for something or other? She already had one detention, and that alone was making her worry over her reputation.
Even worse, what if they were particularly villainous? Lili wasn't sure she would be able to handle someone who was..
No, the possibilities of what kind of person her date was were endless. It wasn't very fair to.. Willem Jansen.. that she was making assumptions towards his character when she was sure she had never met him. He could be a wonderful person. He might be all smiles like Mathias! That would actually be nice!
Her headphones rested around her neck, a long cord trailing from them down to her back pocket, where her Walkman hid. Currently, she hadn't been listening to anything, enjoying the sounds of nature instead. Crossing the school's front lawn, she stopped in front of a tree, leaning against it and watching the couples and groups of people sitting and standing on the grass. It was going to get dark soon, so only about ten people total were hanging about.
Who knows, maybe she was just making this out to be more than it was. Perhaps 'Willem Jansen' was a senior that didn't want to associate himself with someone as young as she was. That was actually more likely to happen than some Prince Charming superhero that thought she was perfect and ect. No, what was probably going to happen was he would think of her as a little sister figure in the end, like every other guy had a tendency of doing. Oh, that would just.. Well, it would make her very disappointed. She hadn't tried her hand at putting on makeup again, but she had worn a skirt and a shirt that both looked rather attractive in her opinion and..
Sigh.
Lili slid her headphones over her ears, pressing a button on her Walkman to start her music. Upbeat music soon filled her ears, causing her to smile. Sometimes, she could swear her little music player knew exactly what to play in order to brighten her mood. Keeping her mind off the date that was probably going to arrive any minute.. It wasn't probably the best idea, but she felt more at ease with music dancing in her thoughts instead of causing troubled ones.
The girl found herself dancing soon enough, staying within a close radius to her tree as if it was keeping her from wandering off too far, where she might lose herself. She had never thought herself a good dancer really, and dear Lord, she must look ridiculous, but the thought of even opening her mouth in public after what had happened with her new friend completely terrified her. As it should! Honestly.
Maybe if Lili were never to get over her fear of singing, she would try to be a dancer. It would certainly be a nice thing to do, despite the fact she would prefer singing overall. But what would be the point in singing if you hurt things in the process?
