Berwald sighed, it had been a long day with returning to school and he was finally able to return to the dorms so he could finally unpack his two suitcases. He entered his dorm room to see that his things where right where he left them this morning and that he was the only one in the room. Glancing at the other bed's he had noticed that his other room mates had not arrived yet to un pack.
He opened up his dresser and started to put away his clothes in the drawers. He put his clothes in their proper spots in the drawers before moving onto his closet to put his school uniforms in there along side his now empty large suitcase. He turned back to the small suitcase that was still on his bed, opening he pulled out his laptop which he placed on his desk. He placed his bathroom kit on the top of his dresser before moving to set his woodworking tools on his desk a long with one of his current projects.
He had finished putting everything away and in their proper places before settling down at his desk and starting on his wood carving, he had started the carving back when he was home over the summer but did not have the chance to finish it. He made sure the trash can was beside him so he sweep the wood shavings into the trash. He tuned out his surrounding as he bent over his desk as he carved totally focused on his woodworking.
Overpacking. It was a thing, a curse, that Lukas still had to struggle with at the beginning of the school year even after all this time. Six years and he still didn't know well enough to only pack necessities for a couple of weeks and have his parents send the rest to him afterwards. Sure, shipping was pretty expensive, but he once again decided it was worth a few extra dollars to save himself from the sore back and irritated mind.
If only he could stick with his decision until next year.
Lukas dragged his suitcase up the last few stairs to the main doors of the dormitory building, wiping his brow and taking a deep breath. It wouldn't have been nearly as bad without the heat, another thing he never learned to deal with. Eager to get to back to the comfort of his room and the air conditioner, he pushed through the doors and walked across the floor to the elevators. He was in a different room than last year, two floors higher this time, and had yet to meet his new room mates. He hoped they were calmer than his previous ones, though at a school meant for kids with super powers ”calm” wasn't a very common occurrence.
It was quiet in the hallway outside his room, and for a moment Lukas wondered if his roommates hadn't arrived yet until he opened the door and spotted a tall, blonde, guy sitting at one of the desks, hunched over a trashcan with a knife and a piece of wood. He seemed pretty focused on his work, and Lukas cleared his throat a bit to announce his presence before actually stepping into the room.
”Hey.” He said as he picked an empty bed and claimed it as his own, lifting his suitcase on top and starting to open it for unpacking. Apparently it was just the two of them, for now. ”I'm Lukas. Grade 6.” He turned to the taller boy as he introduced himself, but didn't offer to shake his hand. He was pretty sure the blonde was older than him, he thought he remembered seeing him around campus before. He had a pretty intense look that probably would've made him a little wary if he hadn't had his empathy skills. He couldn't really sense any hint of anger or annoyance from his new roommate, and he already had a feeling the boy was the quiet type. All the better.

Berwald was so absorbed with his little project he had lost track of time, he never even noticed the door opening until there was the sound of someone clearing their throat. He sat up and turned to the new voice, watching the boy for a few moments as he started to unpack. He listened as the new boy introduced himself, he then introduced himself back.
' 'm B'rwald. Gr'de 7 '
He studied Lukas, he was younger then Berwald's old room mates last year but he was ok with that. He did observed that the other boy seemed to pack a lot of stuff with him, much more then what he himself had brought. He set down his project and tools on his desk so he could give Lukas his full attention. He didn't want to be rude to his new room mate.
He wasn't sure what else he should say, he wasn't much of a talker but it looked like Lukas perhaps might not mind so much that he didn't talk a whole lot. His new room mate looked like he might not talk much either so they might just get along very well.
' S'rry ab'ut th' little m'ss, I w'll be clean'ng up wh'n 'm done '
He always made sure that he cleaned up after himself when he did his projects because he hated to leave a big mess to have to clean later.
Lukas nodded as the older boy confirmed his suspicions of his age, though he still couldn't tell exactly where the older student was form. Berwald wasn't a very common name, he was sure, but if he had to guess he'd probably say he was either German or Scandinavian. His fair coloring certainly suggested he was from northern Europe. Not that it really made a difference, he was sure he would find out eventually.
Lukas pulled out his laptop from his suitcase and set it on the bed, soon followed by a few stacks of clothing and a somewhat impressive collection of sunscreen and after sun lotions. He would have to take some of these things to Eirik's room later, as his little brother was the one who needed them the most but also refused to carry them in his suitcase. Not that Lukas really complained, he was used to taking care of his brother.
' S'rry ab'ut th' little m'ss, I w'll be clean'ng up wh'n 'm done '
Lukas glanced back at Berwald as the older boy spoke and gave the room a quick once over. It didn't really look messy at all to him. The only thing that was out of place were the few pieces of wood that hadn't made it into the bin, and the tools on Berwald's desk. Still, Lukas could appreciate the fact that his new roommate was considerate enough to apologize even for something as little as that.
”It's hardly a mess. I don't mind.” He assured, deciding that he liked the older boy. He was a little hard to understand, yes, and looked a pretty stern, but Lukas was sure he was a great improvement from last year. It would be nice if he could actually enjoy some peace and quiet in his own room this year. Though, even if Berwald was the quiet type, there was still another empty bed in the room. ”Do you know who's going to be our third roommate?” He asked Berwald, nodding towards the empty bed. ”I hope he's not someone annoying.”

Berwald raised an eyebrow as he watched the other boy take out his impressive collection of sunscreen and sun lotions, he didn't think he had ever met anyone with that much sunscreen and sun lotions before. He had fair skin himself but he never needed that much sun products before even though he did not go out as much as Lukas seemed to.
" Th't's a lot 'f sunscr'n and s'n l'tion "
He saw that Lukas was looking around the room to see if there really was anything of a mess in the room, but he was a clean person as he hated messes himself and a clean room was a healthy room for everyone. He leaned over to pick up the stray pieces of wood that had missed the garbage bin and put them into the bin.
Lukas's question of if he knew who their third room mate made him shake his head, he didn't know what the other boy's name was but he did know that he was suppose to show up sometime that day to unpack and move into the dorm.
" Nej. ' don't kn'w who 'r th'rd r'm mate 's "
He agreed with Lukas, he himself hoped that his room mates were quiet and knew how to clean up after themselves. So far so good with Lukas however that peace could be shattered if their other room mate happened to be noisy and very messy.
Lukas simply glanced at Berwald over his shoulder at the comment, thinking he didn't really need to justify the contents of his suitcase to someone he'd just met. Even if that someone was his new roommate and seemingly a pretty nice person. He turned back to his suitcase and set some of the bottles aside to take to Eirik later before taking out the rest of his clothes and a couple spare pairs of shoes. " Nej. ' don't kn'w who 'r th'rd r'm mate 's "
Lukas gathered his clothes in his arms and walked over to his own dresser, opening the top drawer to stack his clothes in neatly, re-folding the pieces that needed it. ”Well, I guess we will just have to wait and see.” He said, shaking out the shirt of his school uniform and hanging it out instead of putting it in the drawer. It wouldn't do to have it wrinkly on the first day of school. Actually... Lukas grabbed his phone and quickly typed out a text to Eirik to tell him to make sure his uniform was neat and clean and also inform him he'd be popping in for a visit within an hour or so. Satisfied, he tossed his phone on the bed and closed his suitcase, placing it under the bed so he could take its place on the slightly too soft mattress.
With a sigh, Lukas closed his eyes, taking a few minutes just to relax, glad that at least he wouldn't have to travel anywhere again until Christmas rolled around. He could've easily fallen asleep if it hadn't been for the promise to go see his little brother soon, so after a moment he opened his eyes again and rolled over to lay on his stomach and prop himself up on his elbows.
”What is that?” He nodded towards the unfinished piece in Berwald's hands. The older boy seemed to be pretty good with his hands, and he was slightly curious as what such a taciturn boy might be working on. Something practical, probably.
