HOW DID THEY FIGURE OUT?
Ever since a young age, Nico experienced a lot of what he thought at the time was deja vu. He would find the faces of people he had only just met to be familiar, something that confused not only him, but the person whose name he could already say as they introduced themselves. He would always somehow already know the plot of the books he read, which is the reason why he tended to stick to non-fiction books. Without the thrill of suspense, fiction was never all that interesting to him, so he never really got into it, despite knowing how most of the popular series ended.
Tests were always pretty easy for him since he always seemed to know what would be asked and what to study. His classmates were envious of his accuracy, but he was confused because he always felt like it was obvious. It wasn't until he started having dreams about future events that he began to wonder if everything was normal with him. After all, his big brother and big sister had powers, so maybe he had them too?
After a couple of years at Asher, Nico began to find that his powers began evolving. Now, he didn't only get gut instincts telling him things. He found that he instantly knew the inner workings of things that he touched. He could fix computers, take things apart and reassemble them or even take a test without studying (Not that it stopped him from studying). Unfortunately, he had no idea why these things would work the way that they do, or what the pieces were for, just that they went in these places in order for it to work. It's inconvenient at times, but gives him a reason to keep studying hard.

`WHILE THEY PULL UP IN FANCY CARS,
Dogs: The only friend Nico has managed to keep over the years is his dog Peltze and he wouldn't trade his small companion for anything.
Chess: Though Nico doesn't play very many games, he is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to chess. The only person he has played and never been able to beat is his elder sister.
Himself: Nico grew up spoiled, so he considers himself to be unrivalled in poise and grace.
His Siblings: He loves even more than he loves himself. Though they tend to baby him since he is the youngest, he never actually feels like he is too young to interact with them as equals.
Studying/Reading: Nico has a general love of knowledge and studying or reading is usually how he spends his spare time.
Dressing Up: Everything he owns is tailor made to fit him perfectly, even his pajamas. He always dresses as sharply as possible, relishing the attention he receives from it.
Sparkling Cider: Sometimes his mom or dad would let him have a sip of their wine at dinner and he loves the taste, so he likes to drink sparkling cider since it reminds him of it.
Business: Nico wants to be a businessman more than anything, especially the CEO of his own company one day.
Debates: It's always nice to have a good battle of words with someone, that way you can figure out how they think and also keep your own mind sharp.
Frogs: The animal. They're really interesting. He would love to have one as a pet, but thinks they need to be free instead of in a glass tank!
CHARACTER NAME DISLIKES
Being Out of the Loop: It makes him feel disconnected from current happenings. Also since he is such a nosy brat, he has to know everything or he'll start pouting.
Coarse Language: Languages are much too beautiful to pepper with profanities. He refrains from using it himself as much as he can.
Physical Violence: It's way to easy to solve problems with a flash of your fists when you get angry, but not many people have the patience or ability to defend themselves with their wit.
Disorganization: Sure a late night of studying can really mess up the organization of a desk, but it's not something that has to stay that way afterwards. Everything is much easier to find when it's put away properly.
People Touching His Hair: The oils from nasty, unwashed fingers could ruin the shine of his hair and mess up his whole look.
Candid Photos of Him: While he always manages to look good in photos, he is worried one day that someone might actually capture him in an unattractive way and it will end up publicized.
His Freckles: They're hardly noticeable and only on his shoulders, but he refuses to wear sleeveless shirts or stay in the sun for too long.
Going to Bed Late: Nico is an "early to bed, early to rise" kind of guy. He's the kid who falls asleep first on movie nights and being kept up late always messes up his daily schedule.
FEARS
Failure: As someone who devotes himself one hundred and ten percent to what he does, he is afraid that one day all of his effort might not be enough to help him reach his goals.
Getting Sick: Getting sick means being unable to train or study properly, which is a big problem for him, so Nico tends to be a little bit on the germophobic side when it comes to sharing and public facilities.
Being Taken Advantage Of: It's a dog eat dog world out there and Nico knows that if he's not careful, he could be the one being eaten before he realizes it. His powers help him keep from being tricked too much, but he is afraid of getting extremely close to people because of it.
QUIRKS
Personal Imperfections: Nico has a habit of picking at any blemishes that he has, especially those on his face. He wants to look professional, so he spends quite a bit of time grooming himself and hiding what he considers imperfections.
Multilingual: Since he is from Luxembourg, Nico grew up learning how to speak German, French and Luxembourgish just to read the newspaper.
Speaks Formally: He tries to act more mature than he really is, so he'll talk a bit eloquently to people he doesn't know very well. He doesn't try to impress people he knows well, like his family and very close friends(though he doesn't actually have these).
Perfectionist: He will tend to overdo it when it comes to projects, homework, or even just helping out his friends. He just wants everything to be done at his very best, despite effort not always being needed.
Gloves: Since his power activates as soon as he touches anything, Nico is supposed to wearing gloves in order to keep them from distracting him while he studies, uses a computer, etc. However, he will forget to wear them on occasion, especially during hotter days.
OVERALL PERSONALITY
Nico tries his best to come off as princely, putting a lot of effort into his appearance and manners. He may act polite and elegant when you first meet him, but if he has no use for you, he can be pretty dismissive. Nico seems to take many things for granted and always has to have his way. He has a habit of talking down to others when he knows a lot about a subject or thinks that someone else is wrong about what they're saying.
When he gets to know someone, he enjoys teasing them until he gets a reaction, which is most likely why his friends don't usually stick. Despite this, he will do his best for people he considers friends. Sometimes he can be a little overbearing in this manner, but overall he is an honest person and works hard on whatever task he needs to accomplish. It is only once he becomes close to people that they get to see the truest side of his character. He sheds the pretentious mask that he wears for the world and becomes more open and sensitive. It's really important to him to gain the approval of those he looks up to. He is usually more inquisitive around those people, so that he can learn their way of thinking and adopt the parts he likes most in his daily life.
When Nico doesn't have a large workload, he'll pack up his books and head to the nearest cafe, just to get someone to start hitting on him while he studies. Since he has no time for commitment, he will flirt with them long enough to make himself seem smooth and then gracefully reject them. If the person who talks to him isn't making romantic advances, he will spur them into a debate and take the opposite side of a subject (even if he is on their side) just to hear them defend it.
Nico dreams of becoming the CEO of an important company one day, powers or not. Rising to power via a government job is too predictable, he wants something much more ambitious. He plans on using his knowledge of alcohol in true Luxembourg fashion to create and sell his own brand. Corporations are harder to remove from power than a government official, after all.

[/ul][/font]This couldn't possibly be happening. For once the tides were finally turning in Nico's favour. Usually Emma was the one keeping him on the ropes when it came to chess, but he had complete control of the board right now. Was she playing with him? No, his sister may be unpredictable, but even she knew when to get serious.
He couldn't help the confident smirk creeping onto his features. Even if he lost, this was still a huge improvement to how their games usually progressed. "Careful Emma, I bet even Lars could beat you right now," he mocked, propping his chin up with a hand.
Her moves continued to get more and more predictable as time wore on. Was she really so panicked that she would fall into such an easy trap? This was a strategy that he used on her plenty of times. Granted, he did refine it each time, but surely she would find another flaw in his plans. She always found some angle he hadn't considered. She wouldn't go down with just this.... would she?
"Checkmate."
The words never felt so delicious in Nico's mouth. It had taken years, but finally he could say that he beat the family's chess-master. He leaned back in his chair, relishing the expression of shock on her face. Everything about this moment was perfect. The stunned silence, only broken by the faint beeping of his alarm clock and the.... haziness of the room around them.
Nico's eyes blinked open to an empty ceiling, broken only by an unlit overhead lamp. There was no sign of a chessboard or his sister anywhere. He could almost hear her taunting laugh in his head, teasing him that he could only beat her in his dreams. With a frustrated sigh, he flipped off the alarm and started to get ready for school. At least it had been a nice experience, even if it was only a dream.
