It should have been a week ago. No, it should have happened a month ago. Perhaps even a year. Regardless, Snezana was dissatisfied with herself. She had wanted to make her first friend so desperately that the pressure had caused her to succumb to her own doubts many times over. Having a shoulder to lean on couldn't really be all that bad, after all. Even the strongest of heroes have at least somebody they can talk to after a hard day's work. She would be no different, as she had decided this long ago.
There was a lot to consider, and a lot of things that were all variables. Scary variables that couldn't be controlled regardless of how much she wanted to take charge. Nervous since waking up, the whole day had felt tedious and uneventful until this point. She had in fact decided upon a new trick, this time not including the chainsaw that had scared off her crowd the last time she had a large-scale performance. No, this time she would submerge into a fish tank, filled with various types of stunning fish. With a varied colour scheme and all, providing a visual treat as well as a crowd concerned for her own well being.
This, however, wasn't what she wanted to do this day. Many times before, she had decided that a specific day was going to be "The one", referring to the day she mustered the courage to talk to a complete stranger, and hopefully walk out with an actual friend. But the question remained: Where? More importantly, how would she do this? Many more questions without answer stirred into her head. Sheesh, the others sure made this look easy, at least. Social lives were nothing like working out, in the sense that there is no clear-cut way of doing anything right or wrong at all.
After a long work out and a quick shower, Snezana idly walked into the cafeteria, rather drowsy, but still somewhat perceptive. Mixing together odd choices, spicy supreme tacos, a bowl of chowder, and smooth and sweet chocolate pudding, she carefully decided that the most unique choice in beverage would be a blueberry smoothie. Only with minuscule satisfaction in her choices, she unconsciously sat at a nearby table, without first examining her surroundings as was the usual. It was a larger table, often used by sporting teams or the like. She thought about how those people always talked and such. Tennis, being a singular sport, seemed like a much better choice for her.
Glancing over, she saw another at the table. Only one, which seemed a little odd. Perhaps by this time of day most people were done eating? Perhaps that it was too early? Who cares about the time anyway, it's just a separation of light and darkness, after all. What really stuck out to her was that the other, another female, was also eating the spicy supreme tacos. Was this what having common interests constituted? It was impossible to know, but she did decide upon this day to pursue her desires. There was no doubt that this was her own personal sign to act.
Though a little worried, slowly Snezana scooted closer to the other, trying not to look awkward or drive suspicion. After all, the first impression was likely the most important. At least, a lot of movies said that. Eventually, she was finally exactly opposite of the other girl, and felt a very tiny moral victory. Getting there was only half of the battle, though. The moment had come for her to make a great first impression, before the girl noticed how strange she was being, or how uncomfortable she felt. The words came out softly, but they were pronounced enough to be legible.

"...Do you happen to like magic tricks...?"
