Mei hummed absently to herself as she walked toward the courtyard. It was such a nice day outside, and she had finished her homework… so she needed something to do. And she hadn’t felt at all like going to the beach, even though normally that would be her first choice. She did love swimming and playing in the water, after all – both as a human and as a tiger. Either way worked for her. It was just… unfortunate to not be able to do both at the same time. And the forest was far too muggy for her tastes. Her hair would poof in the humidity, and that was not cute in the slightest. She was having such a good hair day today. The village was another option, but it really wasn’t fun to go shopping without a shopping buddy – and she didn’t feel like attempting to pester any of her friends into going with her.
So the courtyard had won out.
Besides, she wanted to see if any new flowers had bloomed there… and whether the two peony bushes she’d planted on the sly were taking root. She hadn’t heard anything specifically allowing or disallowing planting her own flowers – but she also hadn’t asked. She’d hate to actively break a rule, but she would have. There hadn’t been any peonies here! That was just awful. Who didn’t plant peonies in their garden?
Once she reached the courtyard, she immediately went to the little space she’d found for her plants, and settled to her knees with care for her white skirt. She couldn’t get grass stains on it, never mind that she’d likely end up forgetting and ruining it sometime in the near future what with shifting into a tiger and all. A soft smile crossed her lips. New shoots! That meant that they were healthy.
Having ascertained that, the Taiwanese girl finally looked around to see who else might be here. If it was someone she recognized, she’d have to say hello.
