Ana María sat on a bench around the main courtyard and folded her legs in such a way that the edge of her skirt wouldn't lift every time she shuffled her legs. Classes had ended a good ten minutes ago and the courtyard was already filled with groups of students who laid on the grass and greeted each other for a well deserved break before going on with their afternoon activities. Ana María smiled. The clear blue sky made it feel like the day was just beginning, like she still had a few more hours of fun before the sun set and the day ended. She wondered what everybody was up to but as much as she wanted to hang out with her friends she knew she had another much more important task at hand.
The last time Ana María had seen Natalya had been a week ago when they were both hanging out at the beach with the boys. Although neither girl knew the other very well, Ana María didn't mind her company and was actually glad that she had come to hang out with them because the levels of testosterone that reign over her group of friends tended to drive her crazy at times.
They had spent the entire afternoon together which is how Ana María came to pick up several things from Natalya. Though it was now kind of official that she was dating her friend Lars, both of them seemed rather cold in the way the acted around each other. Ana wasn't sure if that was some European thing but it certainly shouldn't be the way a couple acted around each other. Though she was no relationship expert, or anywhere near close to being one, she had one prominent feature and that was being flirty, sometimes to the point of not reading the atmosphere.
The way that Ana María carried herself seemed to attract several people to be naturally enchanted by her. Her attitude around the male gender had changed dramatically over the past years after she had realized that boys, in fact, found her beautiful, which was how she had developed the fine skill of getting what she wanted through silly but powerful comments, mostly by boosting the male ego. That having been a skill that she had perfected over the years, when Natalya was about to leave, Ana María had pulled her aside and made the request to teach her how to flirt.
It was evident that the girl needed help. It seemed it was Lars who was the romantic one, (who knew?) and in order to help ignite the spark that was bound to tie both of them together, Ana María felt it was up to her to get Natalya to break through the ice and let loose in a way that she was sure the Belorussian had never before. This is why they had agreed to meet each other after school to practice in a rather semi secluded place so that Natalya wouldn't be embarrassed of looking silly and Ana could finally have someone to impart her wisdom to, which was, rather surprisingly, something she never really got to do.
