The weight of his weapons vest felt good, something that he didn’t always get to wear due to the magnitude of weaponry that was in it. Not like that prevented him from having at least a few knives and pistols on him for good measure. One never knew when they would need something like that of course.
Vash smiled at the feeling of the small expandable staff that he had in his hands. He had been studying some new healing and battling techniques, and hopefully they would prove useful during this battle.
He had managed to figure out using melting to prevent him from getting hurt easily, and when he was, and if he was given the time to do so, he would be able to melt his body back together. He hadn’t had much practice with that use of melting in particular, the reason being that…well, he’d have to injure himself every time that he wanted to practice. To say the least, he was able to practice on small fractures and cuts and bruises, but nothing severe. He knew that it was the same basic concept, but the bigger the area of damage, the more concentration had to be put into visualizing the body part that needed to be repaired. This of course was easier said than done when facing an enemy of any form.
He quickly adjusted all of the different straps and gizmos that were on his person and expanded the staff out. The staff wasn’t his preferred method of fighting, however, he knew he would need to know how to use it well…if not on it’s own, than with all of the other weapons that he had on him. After all, during battle…there will always be beams and sticks of some sort to fight with when one looses the other weapons…if they loose them.
Vash smiled a little at the thought, after everything, people still fought with sticks and stones sometimes…it seemed like the old ways were sometimes the most reliable, albeit archaic.
He had no idea who he was supposed to be training—well, fighting today. That information was kept from him for unknown reasons. However, he guessed that they wanted him to be prepared for any type of opponent, so he wouldn’t have been able to pin-point their weaknesses before the fight.
Vash didn’t so much mind not knowing, in this particular instance. He knew that this is a more realistic scenario than being able to research everything about your opponent before the fight, as it was, he knew that he wouldn’t normally know the timing for battles in the real world…however he wouldn’t be happy with being pulled out of class or out of his studies at random for this. Granted, he didn’t like surprises, so it was a mild annoyance to him that he wasn’t at least informed of the power that his opponent possesses, having to carry a little bit of everything just to prepare to find the other’s weakness was a bit of a pain.
He took a deep swig of water before walking into the arena, of course he was early. Vash quickly assessed the arena and tried to find the best place to start off for his own stance. He just hoped that his opponent wasn’t an early-bird like he was, otherwise he wouldn’t have as much time to plan as he had hoped. He was going to try to win this one without the use of firearms, not like he was allowed to use real bullets on another student anyway. He had loaded his firearms with stun-gun type bullets, but he already knew how to shoot perfectly well. He mainly brought his fire-arms because the weight and shape of them were also useful tools as a means of attack, especially if one was to use a hunting rifle if they were out of bullets.
He silently slid behind one of the benches and waited for his opponent to arrive, making sure to stay as silent as he possibly could.
